About the SEDG Cell

The SEDG (Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups) Cell of Babu Vishnu Pratap Singh Smarak Mahavidyalaya has been formed to ensure that students from disadvantaged backgrounds receive equitable access to higher education, a discrimination-free campus, and dedicated academic and personal support.

This initiative is in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, introduced by the Government of India, emphasizing equity, inclusion, and accessibility in Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs).


Objectives

  • Inclusive Education: Ensure equal access to quality education for SEDG students.

  • Student Support Systems: Facilitate scholarships, mentorship, counseling, and academic guidance.

  • Safe & Secure Campus: Build an environment free from discrimination, bias, or exclusion.

  • Capacity Building: Conduct skill enhancement, career readiness, and personal development programs.

  • NEP 2020 Alignment: Implement policies and initiatives adhering to NEP 2020 principles.


Core Functions

  • Identification & Database: Maintain records of SEDG students for targeted institutional support.

  • Advocacy & Awareness: Run sensitization programs for students, staff, and faculty.

  • Monitoring & Evaluation: Assess the effectiveness of welfare initiatives and recommend improvements.

  • External Collaboration: Partner with government bodies, NGOs, and industry stakeholders to create opportunities.
